Looking for privacy? Try one of our panelled doors

We offer both pre-finished and unfinished solid, unglazed doors. For a rustic feel, try purchasing our XL Joinery External Oak Suffolk door. Our unfinished doors can be painted or stained, so are great for those wanted to express individual style.

If you're searching for something more convenient, why not try ordering a pre-finished door. These doors arrive fully finished, covered in paint, wax or varnish. They do not need to be painted or stained prior to installation. The XL Joinery External Composite door is a fantastic choice for customers looking for a more contemporary look.

Make your home brighter with a glazed door

XL Joinery External Doors FAQs

Engineered wood is also known as composite wood, and is made using a combination of wood fibres, sawdust, glues and chemicals. Engineered wooden doors have the same appearance as solid wood doors, but are sturdier and more cost-effective than solid oak doors or other solid wood. They are easier to customise than their solid oak counterparts and are more durable. Engineered oak can be sanded, refinished, and does not expand and contract as much as solid natural wood.

The doors in this collection range considerably in price. The cheapest door in this collection costs just £64.73. Our most expensive door, the XL Joinery External Oak La Porte Vista 6 Door costs £3599.99. We also sell gates, which start at just £77.46.

Our unfinished Oak interior doors are great for adding individuality to the exterior of your property. Before fitting, however, they must be treated with a protective layer of oil. This will ensure the longevity of your door. Oil-based paint may also be used.

Before treating your door, cover the surrounding area with a dust sheet. Pour the oil into a paint tray and use a paintbrush to gently apply a thin layer of oil to the surface of the door. Wipe away any excess. When painting, ensure that you follow the grain of the wood. Leave the layer of paint to dry, and denib the door. Denibbing is the process of removing imperfections after each coat of oil.

Make sure to use a finishing pad with a lower grit, and don't apply too much pressure. Apply the second coat of oil. When dry, repeat the process on the other side of the door. We recommend treating your Oak interior door every few years. However, manufacturers' guidelines should always be followed for the best results.
